About Anne Nicholson

Anne gained an HNC in Graphic Design in the 80’s with her final project exhibited in the Stirling Smith Art Gallery. She has worked in several art-related posts, ending her career as a typesetter working on books from various major publishers. Although Scotland is Anne’s home and provides endless inspiration, she was schooled in Kuwait, loves travel and is a frequent visitor to New Zealand. Since retiring Anne has had her recent work shown in various galleries, including a Royal Society of Watercolours exhibition. Always happy to experiment, Anne is most interested in textures and marks made using her preferred medium of both watercolour and ink. Constantly inspired by the natural world, she carries a small sketchpad to record landscapes in a quick ink sketch or watercolour during her regular walks.
