About Hooperhart

HooperHart was established by Cal Scott in 2015. Since graduating in 1997 from Edinburgh College of Art with a BA Hons in Design & Applied Arts, Cal has worked in various media including ceramics, graphic design and textiles. Her interest in printmaking and a love of colour and surface pattern led her to start screen-printing on plywood, which gradually developed into an interest in creating depth by using layers of wood instead of ink.

She now uses these techniques in the creation framed and boxed dioramas, incorporating painting, collage, mount board and gold leaf. Influenced by her time working on stage sets in the theatre, she uses her love of the British countryside, coast and wildlife as a starting point for each design, creating unique hand-crafted pieces with a contemporary folk art flavour.
