About Sue Beach
Sue was an artist based in Stirling, Scotland. Originally embarking on an academic and teaching career in Geology, at age 30 she began classes at Glasgow School of Art and shifted her focus to creating and exhibiting art.
Sketching every day, she built up a visual diary, a story, a timeline. The drawings were done ‘out and about’ and were intended to bring back a stronger memory than taking a photograph. By taking more time to observe, she noticed more, and the resulting drawings captured the memories and feelings of the moment.
In 2019, she embarked on a project to celebrate the ‘goings on’ in Kings Park, Stirling. This project spanned two years, across the four seasons, and was shaped by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. A curated selection of this work was shown in a solo exhibition. Some of her work is held by the University of Stirling and displayed in their Lifespan Research Laboratory. (1951-2025) Other works from this artist
