Sam graduated from Duncan of Jordenston College of Art and Design in 2019 with a First Class Bachelors of Arts Honours Degree. Then selected to exhibit in the Royal Scottish Academy – New contemporaries 2020.

Sam’s practice evolves from the experience of a walk, distilling her emotional response to space. The paintings filter the essence of a landscape she has personally experienced by recreating; colour, texture, atmosphere and energy. Incorporating the concept of the ‘inscape’. The paintings do not directly depict a landscape but take on an abstract form with subtle indications, allowing them to be uniquely interpreted by the viewer.
