Elisabeth Grant was born in Sweden and is a mixed media artist living in Glasgow.
When it comes to creativity her background is in textile but over the years she has developed her creativity into other media as well. Colours, shapes, lines, marks and textures in various forms are important to her.

To start with a blank canvas and put down the first mark is like starting a conversation and is a major part of Elisabeth’s process. Her painting consists of several layers. It is a process of adding and taking away. Elisabeth also likes to explore new ways of doing things and this gives a feeling of the unknown, gives surprises and a challenge to bring a piece of work to conclusion. Elisabeth’s inspiration mainly comes from nature, thought or concepts she has been thinking of.

Elisabeth has been trained in Sweden, Japan and Scotland. She held her first solo exhibition in Glasgow 2003.
