Darren Rees has been painting wildlife for nearly 40 years and is one of the UK’s most highly respected nature artists. His work has attracted many awards and honours most recently Wildlife Artist of the Year from the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and BBC Wildlife Magazine. Darren also won the Artist in Residency in Antarctica post organised by the Royal Navy and the Friends of the Scott Polar Research Institute, spending five weeks in the far south aboard the ice-breaker HMS Protector.

His first solo book Bird Impressions was short-listed in the Natural History Book of the Year Award and he is a council member of the Society of Wildlife Artists in London. He has been a contributing artist to the Artists for Nature Foundation/WWF projects in Holland, Poland, Peru and Ecuador, and he leads wildlife tours to Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Arctic. Darren lives in the Forth Valley close to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
